CNB Drug Free Campaign 2017



As part of its anti-drugs awareness campaign, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) held an engaging event from the 3rd to the 15th of October 2017 at The Cathay, one of Singapore’s popular hangout spot for young adults. Called the “Gurd Club” event (Gurd being the reverse spelling of Drug), the aim of it was to raise awareness among young adults of the dangers and negative effects arising from the consumption of drugs.

INX was engaged to provide many of the required event services, such as conceptualization, fabrication, and management.

From the outside, the event was set up to replicate a regular nightlife venue with realistic brick and graffiti walls, and posters promoting an upcoming nightlife event. Once inside, visitors were instead treated to a multi-sensory installation designed to show what drug users would feel when consuming narcotics. The content comprised of intriguing and vivid visuals displayed on a 2440mm x 2744mm LCD wall inside a 2540mm x 2440mm x 3048mm metal lift rigged with flashing lights effects and speakers producing mildly disorientating sound.

The event saw more than 4000 individuals pledging their support, and visitors who attended this event also walked away with a better understanding of the negative effects of drugs.
